Mountie Boys Soccer Banquet

Tonight I attended a wonderful banquet for the South Boys Soccer Team. It was a great time to visit with the players and their families. We enjoyed a wonderful meal provided by the staff at Penn College. Congratulations to the players for providing us with a lot of wonderful memories from the season. I would also like to congratulate Logan Yerger, Zach Yoas, & Brian Mahonski on receiving all-star honors from the league. Thanks Coach Bloom and Coach McNeill for a great season. Please check out this highlight video below.

Penn State vs. Michigan State

What a weekend! It was extremely cold, but well worth the opportunity to watch a part of PSU history. I was fortunate to be sitting in the stands this weekend as Penn State crushed Michigan State for the Big Ten Title and a berth in the Rose Bowl. With the win, Penn State was earned the 800th win in school history. I am still trying to warm-up from being in the cold for so long this weekend.

Parent/Teacher Conferences This Week

Just a reminder that Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Please take the opportunity and meet with your child's teachers to discuss how your son or daughter is doing. We are all very proud of the hard work the students have done the first part of the year.

8th Grade Class Meeting

The 8th Grade Team held their end of the marking period class meeting on Thursday. The students were honored for making Honor Roll, Student of the Month, and for displaying the high qualities the teachers are looking for in our SOUTH Incentive Program.

The assembly began with a small skit performed by their teachers using the word SOUTH. I am trying to secure a picture to display on my blog. I might have to bribe Mrs. Jones for the picture.

After the teacher skit, all the honor roll students and the students of the month were asked to stand and be recognized by their peers. Then the students that earned gold metals during the marking period were all put into a box and a drawing was held for prizes. Some of the prizes include Candy Bars, McDonald's Arch Cards, Movie Gallery Movie Rentals, Subway Subs, and many other prizes.

Congratulations to our winners: Jake DeAngelo, Marco Estrella, Savannah Hill, Zach Welter, Nick Caruso, Chelsey Carnrike, Vicky Losell, Matt Bartholomew, Wesley Hall, Alex Smith, Ashleigh Breauchy, Josh Vroman, Marissa Tressler, John Bonner, Heath Newcomer, Jourdan Boehmer, Alex Kita, Alexandria Fiester, Erinn Morrison, Sarah Maffett, Tyler House, Mia Aliosio, Lou Anna Bragalone, Hannah Deibler, Gino Caschera, Justin Knee, Andrew Eigenbrod, Alisha Wein, Carissa Flook, Robert Lynn, and Brett Gair.

Mounties Mission Homefront

The Mounties Mission Homefront has sent out a survey letter to the home of every student in the district. The purpose of this letter is to collect data on students in our district that may have loved ones serving in the military. We would like to be able to provide a support group for our students and their families that have suddenly found themselves to be military families.

Please complete the form and return it to your son or daughters school. If you would like to find out more information on Mounties Mission Homefront, please go to: http://www.mounties.k12.pa.us/53632087142828390/site/default.asp
